Why study Cert I in Construction?
This certification provides an overview of the construction industry’s culture, jobs, job requirements, and workplace regulations. The competency units cover core requirements for workplace health and safety, industrial and work organisation structure, communication skills, job planning, and fundamental tool and material use. The qualification is built around a key building project unit that integrates skills and puts the many parts of employability skills into context.
The qualification is suited for students engaged in vocational education and training (VET) programmes in schools, as well as individuals with no prior connections to the construction industry or relevant employment experience.
Although there are no specific occupational outcomes for this degree, the acquired skills will enable students to successfully pursue an Australian Apprenticeship or a Certificate II pre-vocational programme.
