What You’ll Learn
This course gives you the technical know-how and hands-on experience you need to operate on heavy commercial vehicles in vehicle service centers, transport firms and workshops. The following are some of the main topics covered:
Engine Repairs & Inspections
For optimum performance you will learn how to examine, identify and fix diesel engines.
Suspension and Brake Systems
You will learn how to maintain, repair and service suspension parts and air brake systems.
Transmission and Drivetrain Repairs
You will learn about differentials like clutch maintenance and gearbox repairs.

You will learn how to diagnose and fix hydraulics, fuel injection and cooling systems.

What Documentation Are Required?
In order to finish your RPL application you must provide:
Identity Verification
Utility bills, a driver's license or a passport.
Resume Mentioning your job experience and skills.
Employment Verification
Employment agreements, offer letters or employer reference letters.
Invoices or Pay Slips
Useful for verification but optional.
Education or Certifications
Any relevant certifications you have obtained.
Pictures and Videos of the Workplace
Proving that you are doing the appropriate duties.
Other Documents in Support
Project files, work samples or reports.
The Cert III in Automotive Body Rep Tech gives understanding of the work done by people who repair and maintain the bodies of automobiles, trucks, and other vehicles in the automotive service and repair industry.
We require the following proof of documents to assess your eligibility for the desired qualification through RPL:
- Photo (latest)
- Passport
- Resume / CV
- Payslips/work contract/ABN if self-employed
- Letter of Employment (onshore / offshore)
- Current employment contracts
- Evidence of overseas qualifications (if available)
- Transcripts or assessments from related previous qualifications.
- Videos or photos at your work (at least 2 from each task)
- Apprenticeship papers (if available)
- OHS/WHS policies and procedures
- Safe work method statements
- Job safety analysis (if available)
The following are the five steps involved in obtaining a desired qualification through RPL:
- Evaluation: One of experienced RPL ADVISOR consultants can conduct a free, no-obligation RPL skills check.
- Your Experience: Compiling and submitting your ‘Experience Portfolio’, which includes photographs and videos of you on the job, references, past credentials, and your latest resume, among other things.
- RTO Reviews the Evidence: Using an RPL assessment, a certified assessor from one of our collaborating RTOs can review the evidence and decide whether you are competent in the units for that certification.
- Interview: If all supporting documents meet the requirement of the desired qualification, then the RTO may take your interview.
- Your Certificate: If the RTO determines that you are qualified in all relevant units of competency, the Registered Training Organisation will grant you a certificate.
